An Important Note

What Level of Care Do I Need?

The past two years have brought a substantial spike in mental health needs across our nation. My services are outpatient, weekly, and low-intensity. Outpatient counseling is often not appropriate for someone experiencing recurring thoughts of being unsafe toward themselves or others. Higher levels of care are available in these situations, such as the various programs offered by Ridgeview, Peachford, Emory at Wesley Woods, Willowbrooke, and several other well-known local providers.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, such as thoughts of death or dying or thoughts of suicide or homicide, please seek emergency medical treatment immediately by calling 9-1-1 for EMS, calling 9-8-8 for the GA Crisis and Access Line, texting 741741 for the National Suicide Hotline, and/or arranging for safe transportation to a local Emergency Room. Do NOT schedule an appointment with me to be assessed first. Doing so will only slow down the process and increase your risk.

Likewise, if you are experiencing hallucinations, highly intrusive thoughts, or substantial routine mood swings, you would likely benefit more intensive treatment.  You can find providers who can treat these conditions via www.psychologytoday.com at varying levels of care, including the larger programs named above. You may also want to try calling your insurance company to see what programs are covered by your policy.
